Scholarships

At Placer Community Theater we are proud to offer support and scholarships to local youth. This year we will award a $750 scholarship. If you are a student graduating in 2022 from a high school in Placer or Nevada County who will pursue a major or minor in the performing arts or technical theater at an accredited institution of higher learning, you are welcome to apply. Applicants must demonstrate active involvement in their school’s drama program through participation in school sponsored theatrical productions either on stage or behind-the-scenes. Scholarships expire one year from the date it is awarded.

Selection to be based on the following criteria:

1. Completion of Placer Community Theater’s Theatrical Arts Scholarship Application.
2. 250 word or less written personal response to the following essay prompt: In 250 words or less, please describe what personal skills you have acquired or developed through your involvement in theatrical arts and how these skills will benefit you in the future. (Essays are to be typed and double-spaced).
3. Your involvement in theater arts through participation in school or community theatrical productions, on stage or behind-the- scenes as well as non-theater school/community involvement.

Only completed applications will be considered. Applications must be postmarked no later than May 16, 2022.
